We’re now in day 4 of the European no fly zone.
We’ve heard all about the stranded holiday makers, but theres more to it than that……
- Some of those holiday makers are teachers (many schools go back tomorrow 19th April after a 2 week break).
- The F1 circus is stranded in China.
- How many of our support structures are reliant on replacement / spare parts being flown in from US / Europe.
- The economic effect on Airports from the lack of passengers in the terminal.
I’m sure we’ll here of many more cases over the coming days, it seems that flights may be disrupted for several days to come.
The latest from NATs
“The volcanic ash cloud from Iceland is currently spread acoss the UK. Based on the latest information from the Met Office, NATS advises that the restrictions currently in place across UK controlled airspace will remain in place until at least 0100 (local time) tomorrow, Monday 19 April.”
Although it looks like a lone flight left birmingham earlier.
